Description
English: Gilt and Polychrome Wood Altarpiece or Retable in the church at Siorac-de-Ribérac, made in the 17th century for the Carthusian monastery of Vauclair, Montpon. The panels show Christ in the garden of olives and Christ's scourging at the pillar. The statuettes depict St Louis, king of France; St Catherine; St Stephen; St Peter in Chains (to whom the church at Siorac is dedicated); and the Virgin and Child.
