English: Gilbert Ning Ling (b. 1919, Nanking, China; US citizen) is a prominent cell physiologist and scientific investigator best known for his Association-Induction Hypothesis (A-I Hypothesis), a unifying, general theory of the living cell. Ling played a central role in the development of the Ling-Gerard microelectrode, that has subsequently proven to be one of the most important device applied to the study of cellular physiolog
