Directly across the river was FortOgden and the Pittston Stockades. Just below was LACKAWANNA RESORTS, Fort VVintermoot. Upon these forts the Indians of the SixNations, under the command of the British general, JohnButler, descended from Tioga Point, further up the Susque-hanna, to begin the tragedy which has gone down into his-tory as the Wyoming massacre.
