English: Famous Ghodaghodi Temple located at Sikhada of Ghodaghodi Municipality Ward No. 1 of Kailali District. This temple is located on the south side of the East-West Highway near the famous Ghodaghodi Lake. This lake is also called Kapil Lake. This place is very famous from a religious and tourist point of view. According to legend, this lake was formed by flooding at some point during the night after torrential rains. At that time, when the local king got information about this, he sent his obedient horse to get information about this place, but he died before reaching the lake area. Then the king sent the next horse. Since the horse was also dead, the king, thinking that there was some divine power in that place, established a temple of this goddess near the lake and started worshiping it. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, there is a statue between a horse and a mare, and on the right and left of the statue is a statue of a tiger. There are also idols of other deities in the temple premises. Devotees throng this temple during Marghashukla Panchami and Maghe Sankranti festivals. There are various other temples of gods in the temple area. |
