Delhi 1908 Collotype Divided back 14.05x9.20cm

A dance hall in an important railway junction and cantonment made famous in Rudyard Kipling's novel Kim. This hall, from the title, possibly featured dancing or "nautch" girls, or it might have been a dance hall where British soldiers held dances with European women at station.

Postmarked Delhi Nov. 18, 1916 and sent to Present Sawyer, Esq., 169 Garfield St., Santa Cruz, Calif.[ornia], U.S.A. "'Katra Ghi', Delhi, India 15.11.16. Dear friend Thanks for your card. Yes I shall be only too glad to exchange cards with you. Kindly note that I exchange coloured and glazed scenery card only ie. views of mts. rivers, lakes, forests, waterfalls, landscapes & seascapes. Kindly sign view side & always be prompt Cordially M.L. Wagarama [sp?]"
