Description

Ghanpur Lake and Temples:

The Ghanpur group of temples are located in Ghanpur aroud 62 km away from Warangal.It was locally known as Kota Gullu.It is believed that Ghanpur got its name from illustrious king Ganapathideva who ruled between 1199 A.D -1260 C.E.

Exposed to the vagaries of the nature and continues battles the temple complex is in a dilapidated condition but but speaks volumes about the architectures prolifiency of kakatiyas. The temples are now being renovated by Department of Archeology

The Ghanpur group of temples comprising of 22 temples constructed within a doubled walled stone enclosure contains a veritable museum of Kakatiya art and architecture.
