English: Nationaal Archief

Beschrijving: Gezicht op Elmina, getekend met een enigszins vertekend perspectief. Het kasteel Elmina is afgebeeld vanaf de oostkant aan de zeezijde en niet vanaf de berg St. Jago zoals in de titel staat vermeld. Deze berg ligt landinwaarts van Elmina ten noordenoosten van het fort en niet aan zee zoals op de tekening wordt gesuggereerd. (Het noorden ligt uiterste rechts van het dorp op de tekening). Vanaf de berg is er een uitzicht op de noordoostzijde van het kasteel met de batterij (klein fort). Aan deze kant van het fort is de korte muur en toegangspoort te zien maar niet de lange vestingwal die vanuit het oosten uit zee te zien is.
