Centsprent met 6 x 4 niet omkaderde houtsneden, waarop apen de rollen van Jan de Wasser en zijn vrouw Griet vertolken. Jan doet het hele huishouden, krijgt een kind en verzorgt het. Griet slaat Jan als het kind huilt. Wanneer Jan zijn kindje laat kakken staat er: 'Kinderen, wilt gij eens raaijen, wat den kleinen neer zal draaijen'. Met tweeregelige rijmende onderschriften in Nederlands en Frans.
