English: German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Dr. Amy Gutmann, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, interacted with soldiers in the Grafenwoehr Training Area. This included 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division and 7th Army Noncommissioned Officer Academy. They gave speeches of encouragement and gratitude and joined soldiers in the current Basic Leader Course class at the academy’s dining facility.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has been in office since March 2017. He was previously the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs and also served as the Vice Chancellor of Germany. Dr. Amy Gutmann assumed her position as the Ambassador in February 2022 and was named on of the “World’s 50 Greatest Leader” in Fortune magazine in 2018.
