This encounter with Joseph Beuys was a big teaching for me : he trusted me, an unknown photographer who had approached him at a chance encounter. 'Eve, let him be, he is the artist' he said to his wife when she tried to direct me during the session which lasted about an hour. His display of simplicity and trust opened me up to his thinking. This was I assumed why his students loved him.
