Description Om een natuurlijker bos te creëren wil men er geen uitheemse boomsoorten en een meer staand dood hout (Liggend dood hout is er al). De boom centraal op de foto is een Amerikaanse eik (Quercus rubra), door deze te ringen probeert men deze 2 doelstellingen te verwezenlijken. Verder zien we ruwe berken (Betula pendula), op de voorgrond, met witte schors, zomereiken (Quercus robur), verspreid met een ruwe schors, beuken (Fagus sylvatica), verspreid met een grijzige schors en lijsterbes (Sorbus aucuparia), op de voorgrond met jong blad. Ook kunnen we, door de strooisellaag en de weinige ondergroei, zien dat dit bos gedomineerd word door beuken en tot recent ook Amerikaanse eik. Door het kappen en ringen van Amerikaanse eiken kan er licht in het bos komen, waardoor er zich nieuwe bomen en struiken kunnen vestigen. Zou men dit bos niet beheren dan zullen er op termijn enkel beuken meer overblijven.
