| Description |
English: No. 12 was built in 1928 for the Kahului Railroad Company in Hawaii by Baldwin and eventually became the railroad`s last steam loco as a back up for the diesel power until the line closed in 1966.
It was purchased for preservation the following year and was dismantled for the journey to California and later Chama, New Mexico. In 1988 it was sold to the Silverwood theme park in Idaho and No. 12 was rebuilt with a new boiler but was too large for regular operation on their system. The Colorado Historical Society bought the locomotive in 2005 and it moved to the Georgetown Loop RR. No. 12 operated at the Loop during 2005 and 2006, then during the winter was overhaul ready for the 2007 season. In 2012 No.12 moved again being leased to the Midwest Central Railroad to work at McMillan Park, Mount Pleasant, Iowa. |
