Description George Washington Parke Custis, buried in Arlington National Cemetery’s Section 13, grave 6513, was the George Washington’s adopted grandson and son of John Parke Custis who himself was a child of Martha Washington by her first marriage and a ward of George Washington. He built Arlington House as a living memorial to George Washington, regularly acquiring George Washington memorabilia to store in the north wing of the mansion.
