Summary

[edit]
Description
English: George Abbot Statue and Upper High Street. George Abbot was Guildford's greatest benefactor and he also became an Archbishop of Canterbury. This statue is by local artist, Faith Winter, and faces down North Street from its location outside the sadly missed and long gone bookshop, Thorp's. The white bus is the borough's free shuttle service for town centre shoppers. Shame about the brick "shoe box" architecture on the left of photograph!
