Ill) Shreveport Area : Arch/Kology 20I Conclusions.—The possible occurrence of Lower Claiborne atShreveport and of Midway at Albany flats makes the stratigraphyabout Shreveport appear much more complicated than had beensupposed and it is greatly to be regretted that suits of thesamples of the borings of the deep wells in the river bottoms andthe deep well at the ice factory have not been saved. Itfurnishes a flow of warm, artesian water. From this fact it hasbeen supposed that the well has reached the upper part of theCretaceous.* But it must be confessed that the correlation with theCretaceous on the basis of salt water furnished is very doubtful. One of the brine springs of Sabine parish, whatever its ultimatesource may be, flows from the lower Claiborne strata ; the otherfrom presumably Lignitic. It is to be hoped that samples willbe saved from future wells. Appendix A CATAI.OGUE OF Aboriginal Works on Caddo Bottoms N. W. yi of S. IV. Sec. 4, 20 N., 14 IV.—A small, rudelyrectang
