Centsprent met 1 handgekleurde litho (?), met tekst eronder, over de vrome Genoveva. Genoveva's geschiedenis is bekend geworden als levensverhaal, bijvoorbeeld in het bekende L'innocence reconnue ou vie de Sainte Geneviève de Brabant, uit 1638. Genoveva was getrouwd met graaf Siegfried. Deze was voor strijd of jacht vaak lange tijd weg van huis. Op een dag in het jaar 750 werd de mooie Genoveva verleid door Golo, de hofmeester van Siegfried. Genoveva weerstond de verleiding. Toen Siegfried terugkeerde, deden aan het hof verhalen over Genoveva's vermeende ontrouw de ronde; en Siegfried geloofde de verhalen. Hij gaf opdracht Genoveva en hun tweejarige zoontje te verdrinken. De dienaar die deze opdracht moest uitvoeren kon de moord echter niet over zijn hart verkrijgen en liet Genoveva en haar zoontje achter in de Belgische Ardennen. Hier leefden ze zes jaar lang in een grot. Toen Siegfried weer eens op jacht was, ontdekte hij zijn doodgewaande vrouw. Door dit wonder was hij overtuigd van haar onschuld en hij nam haar en zijn zoon mee terug naar het paleis. Op deze prent wordt afgebeeld hoe door een valse beschuldiging haar echtgenoot Siegfried, graaf van Braband, meent dat Genoveva de dood heeft verdiend. Hij stuurt twee moordenaars, die ze weet te bewegen haar in leven te laten. Zie ook: Glenisson 23
