Description

This buste is bought and subsequently sold again by me, and I have decided to share this picture and the circumstances around it, with the world The following mail correspondence took place between me and the seller june 19, 2010 "Hi... About your bronze buste of General Paulus, I was wondering how the head was mounted on the woodbase? It appears to me that the circular attachmentpiece that connects head and base might be post 1945? Is it possible that the buste originally was bigger, and that some of its base was sawn off? Regards xxxxx" "Hi xxxxx, Yes your correct the head was originaly part of a bigger piece, but after Paulus surrendered to the Russians the bronze was ordered to be destroyed. The man I bought it from was given this task, he destroyed the rest but kept the head untill I bought it 3 years ago . The head came from a small german town called Reichenall, Not sure if the spellings correct. It was post war mounted but looks very good. Regards
