EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS (See page 52). Melliorlora (Black Ironbark). Of spreadinggrowth, with a comparatively stout stem, andmakes excellent fuel. The young- trees arelargely used for telegraph poles, and the flow-ers are much sought by bees. One of thestrongest and most durable timbers in theworld. Height 250 ft. Oz. $1.25. Obliqua (Stringy Bark). A quick grower andproduces the best wood for flooring, scantlingand shingles; also used in the manufactureof paper. Inferior as fuel, but makes thebest charcoal tor the forge. Height 300 ft.Oz. 75 cts. Obtusifolia (Yellow Black Butt). A rapid-grow-ing variety, very good for fuel; also used forstaves, coopers and wheelwrights work.Height 120 ft. Oz. 75 cts.
