Summary

[edit]
Description U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jeff W. Mathis III, commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support, addresses attendees of the Alexandria, Va.-held Joint Civil and Department of Defense CBRN Symposium, March 13, 2013, via video teleconference at Fort Eustis, Va. Mathis spoke about the capabilities of JTF-CS, which is charged with providing command and control for Department of Defense CBRN response forces to assist local, state, federal and tribal partners in saving lives, preventing further injury and providing critical support to enable community recovery. He also told about 125 defense and homeland response leaders that working more closely with state and local response agencies will allow for more realistic response planning and, ultimately "provide a much more holistic view across the nation and how we would respond to a CBRN incident."
