l holds bothoffices. He is unmarried. Daniel Shelton. immigrantSHELTON ancestor, was born at Dept-ford, Yorkshire, England,about 1686-90. He came to this country asa merchant. He settled in Stratford. Connect-icut, now Huntington. He mg^ried Elizabeth,daughter of Governor Samuel Welles, ofWethersfield, z^pril 4, 1692, and resided inStratford until about 1707-08, when he settledat Long Hill, Huntington. He died there in1728. His widow Elizabeth died Aj^ril i, 1747,aged seventy-seven.
