| Description |
Written on the outside ring: We commemorate all the members of the Allied Forces who lost their lives on the soil of Gemert-Bakel. In 1987 is het beeld van chamotteklei vervangen door een replica, omdat het ernstig was aangetast door weersinvloeden. Door het bakproces werd de kopie 10% kleiner dan het origineel. Eind jaren 90 bleek ook de replica niet bestand tegen weersinvloeden. Bovendien hadden vandalen de tekstplaten beschadigd. In 2001 is een totaal nieuw monument onthuld, waarin de 'Vredesmaagd' opnieuw een centrale plaats inneemt. Made by Charles Eyck (original in 1947). Toon Grassens (replica in 1987).
