Description
Deutsch: Geithain/Sachsen, St. Nikolai: Gesamteindruck bzw. Übersichtsaufnahme der hölzernen Decke, die von Adam Schilling dem Älteren 1594/1595 gemalt wurde – die Bilderdecke ist vor dem Altar (Osten, hier im Bild oben) stehend mit Blick zur Orgel (Westen) zu betrachten - das Mittelschiff zeigt von Ost nach West das Kursächsische Wappen, die Dreieinigkeit umgeben von Putten, den Brandenburger Adler, die Taufe Jesu, das Wappen derer von Bünau, das Jüngstes Gericht und das Stadtwappen von Geithain – da die Gemälde des Nord- und Südschiffes zum Teil verdeckt sind, siehe die Übersichtsaufnahmen von Nord- bzw. Südschiff;
English: Geithain/Saxony, St. Nikolai: General impression resp. General view of the wooden ceiling painted by Adam Schilling the Elder in 1594/1595 - the picture ceiling can be seen standing in front of the altar (east, here in the picture above) looking towards the organ (west) - the central nave shows from east to west the coat of arms of the Electorate of Saxony, the Trinity surrounded by putti, the Brandenburg eagle, the baptism of Jesus, the coat of arms of the von Bünau family, the Last Judgement and the coat of arms of the town of Geithain - as the paintings of the north and south aisles are partly covered, see the overview photos of the north aisle and south aisle respectively;
