| Description |
Nederlands: n de gemeente De Ronde Venen zijn gedenkzuilen opgericht bij de zes plaatsen waar in de Tweede Wereldoorlog gevechtsvliegtuigen zijn verongelukt. Bijzonder is dat dit gedaan is voor geallieerde en Duitse toestellen, voor vriend en vijand dus.
De zuilen hebben de vorm van een lezenaar, gemaakt van een stalen plaat met een knik. In de voet is de datum en daaronder een neerstortend vliegtuig uitgespaard. Op het bovenste geknikte deel is het informatiepaneel bevestigd met daarop details van het vliegtuig, de vlucht en bemanning. Deze informatie is het resultaat van een groot onderzoek door de heer Chris van der Linden. Hij heeft op zijn eigen website Luchtoorlog Waverveen en omstreken de ongelukken uitgebreid gedocumenteerd. Een suggestie van een inwoner heeft geleid tot een project binnen de Historische Vereniging De Proosdijlanden o.l.v. oud-wethouder Jan van Breukelen, met dit mooie resultaat, 75 jaar na de laatste van de zes ongelukken. |
