Gay Head Light, 1799 (English)
This file unit consists of correspondence related Gay Head Light on Martha’s Vineyard received by Benjamin Lincoln in his capacity as Superintendent of Massachusetts Lighthouses. The correspondence relates to the appointment of a lighthouse keeper, expenses for building the light, and the storage of oil on the premises. Included are letters from Revenue Commissioner William Miller, Lighthouse Keeper Ebenezer Skiff, and New Bedford Customs Collector Edward Pope. (English)
