Summary
[edit]DescriptionGates of Langton Hall, Pinxton - geograph.org.uk - 87232.jpg |
English: Gates of Langton Hall, Pinxton. Information from Geograph reader Paul (thank you!):
"I thought you might like to know that these are not the original gates and that the original gates were actually wooden. They were unfortunately past repair when found and left to rot. The brickwork pillars shown in your picture are are also not original since I built them in the eighties when I owned the hall. I also built the gatehouse further down the drive. When I owned the hall it was a listed Grade 2 building but it has since been de-listed and is now nothing like the original Georgian country house it once was. It now has double glazed plastic windows and is now a dwelling of cottages and that is a shame." |
