Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Gatehouse of Fleet railway station (site), Dumfries & Galloway
Opened in 1861 as "Dromore" by the Portpatrick Railway on what later became the Portpatrick & Wigtownshire Joint Railway from Castle Douglas to Portpatrick. This station went through various combinations of names during its existence. Despite being 6 miles from the village, it remained open until the line closed in 1965.

The railway line was known as 'The Port Road'.

View south west from the end of one platform towards Creetown and Portpatrick. The Castle Douglas-bound platform is just out of view to the right.
