Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Gate on the Cateran Trail The Cateran Trail is a walking path about 100 km long that wends its circuitous way around the hills between Blairgowrie and Bridge of Cally. Much of it is said to follow the paths used by Caterans (cattle thieves or rustlers)in years gone by. The Caterans would descend from their rough bothies high in the mountains to prey on the prosperous and peaceful farmers below, leading their stolen cattle through remote glens using these ancient drove routes and selling them in markets.
