Description

Op een platform van de basaltschlucht van de Aziatrivier bevindt zich de tempel van Garni. Dit is een zonnetempel in Griek-Romeinse stijl gebouwd in de 1st eeuw na Ch. In de derde eeuw bouwen de Armeense koningen er hun zomerresidentie. De Hellenistische tempel werd na een aardbeving origineel heropgebouwd.
