Description
English: The former flagpole mount of the historic Garden City Post Office in Garden City, New York. I originally thought it might be a manhole, or a marker for a time capsule, or even a hidden storage facility in the event of an enemy attack, but a dated Google Maps StreetView image showed me what this thing was for.
