Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dwarapalakas(doorkeeper/guard) is one of the key features of Hindu temples. There will be male guards for male deity and female guards for female deity. These Dwarapalakaas appear in gigantic proportions coupled with ferocious features. Such as wide opened eyes, terrifying laugh and Suchi Mudra. They symbolize the strict discipline and austerity to be observed by the devotees before approaching God/Goddess residing in the sanctum sanctorum.
