| Description |
English: Galway Cathedral / Ardeaglais na Gaillimhe The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven & St Nicholas stands on the site of the city's former jail and was completed in 1967 to the design of John J. Robinson. The style is that of the Renaissance and incorporates a number of Spanish influences, reflecting Galway's longstanding trading links with Spain. This view shows the liturgical east end of the church, which geographically is aligned almost south. |
