Description
English: "Gallusquelle", karst spring in „Hermentingen“ (a community of Veringenstadt), Swabian Alb. The spring (max. flow 3000 L/s) feeds river Lauchert and the regional supply for drinking water.
Deutsch: Gallusquelle am rechten Hangfuß der Lauchert in Hermentingen. Es ist die Karstquelle mit der zweitgrößten Schüttung (max. 3000l/s) in der Westalb. Unmittelbar im Fels vor dem Austritt der Quelle hat der "Zweckverband Zollernalbgruppe" die Quelle für die Trinkwassergewinnung gefasst. Ein Teil der Wassermenge ergießt sich immer in die Lauchert.
Das Einzugsgebiet der Quelle in der Unteren Felsenkalk-Formation (ki2 und ki3) ist mit 45 qkm sehr groß. Ein Teil des Wassers stammt aus der Versickerung der Fehla.
