Summary
[edit]DescriptionGalactic Get-Together (potm2211c).jpeg |
English: This is an image of II ZW 96 released by the NASA/ESA [esahubble.org Hubble Space Telescope] in 2008 for the telescope’s 18th anniversary. Hubble provides a unique view of this bizarre galaxy merger in visible wavelengths. This version has been scaled to match the size and orientation of the new Webb image of II ZW 96.[Image description: Two galaxies are connected by dark blue spots of star formation. The galaxies are blue with faint red dust, and are heavily distorted from their spiral shapes. The background is black, and covered with many tiny galaxies.] |
