English: This image represents the integrated flux of all sources of light having a magnitude greater than 10 and as measured by the Gaia satellite (ESA/Gaia/DPAC). It is in sRGB color space, gamma compressed (2.6) and with 8 bits color samples.
It has been generated using the "gaialaxy" code: https://github.com/eatdust/gaialaxy Gaialaxy has been running on the public domain EDR3 data provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia, processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium DPAC. More importantly, it is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0, and you can embed and use this texture in GPLv3 open source softwares. |
