Description
Deutsch: Hessischer Meilen-/Stunden-/Kilometerstein in Gadernheim am südlichen Ortsausgang an der B 47. Inhalt der nebenstehenden Tafel:
  • Bei dem hier anzuschauenden Objekt handelt es sich um einen alten Meilenstein der Provinzialstraßen des Großherzogtums Hessen-Darmstadt.
  • Der Rundsockelstein wurde 1843 an der Kreuzung der „Alten Straße“ / „Hohe Straße“, Abzweigung nach Kolmbach, errichtet. Er ist ca. 30 km von der Residenzstadt Darmstadt entfernt.
  • Im Großherzogtum Hessen-Darmstadt wurde 1843 in Klafter (ca. 1,90 m) und Meile (= 4.000 Klafter, ca 7.600 m) gemessen. Die Entfernung betrug demnach 4 Meilen nach Darmstadt. Die ursprüngliche Beschriftung ist nicht mehr zu erkennen.
  • Der Meilenstein stand zur damaligen Zeit etwa 100 m südlich des Ortsausganges von Gadernheim in Richtung Lindenfels, oberhalb der Straßenböschung der heutigen B 47 („Nibelungenstraße“) unter einem Baum.
  • Im Auftrag der Gemeinde Lautertal wurde der Stein im Jahr 2010 renoviert und an dieser Stelle gut sichtbar neu errichtet.
