Description This 1915 Porcelain boat license is 3 1/2 X 4 inches in size. I am not sure the exact use of this plate but I believe it was used on a skiff (A type of boat) to transport people from Marsh to Marlow which are or were docking ports in London along the Thames River. The letters "T" and "C" on either side of the date at the top stand for "THAMES CONSERVANCY" Recently salvaged from the Thames River this plate has held up well after more than 90 years in the river. This plate was used on a water taxi or ferry and was licensed to go back and forth between the two Thames docks only.
