Summary
[edit]DescriptionGPS Survey at Weir Dyke Bridge - geograph.org.uk - 336893.jpg |
English: GPS Survey at Weir Dyke Bridge. Photo taken at Weir Dyke bridge 172000. The signpost in the background marks the footpath along the bank of the New River Ancholme. The Surveyor was with a group checking water levels in nearby drains. He had established a datum on the bridge using GPS (8 satellites) and this gave me an opportunity to check my Etrex, which uses 4 satellites, against his professional equipment. The difference was less than 1m - my Etrex was showing 20ft accuracy at the time. For a close-up of the survey gear see 336908. |
