Description
English: A strange train made entirely of electric locomotives on the Northeast Corridor on March 31, 1977. From left to right: an ex-PRR GG1, a new but unreliable E60, a Swedish Rc4, and a French CC21000. The Rc4 (X995) and CC21000 (X996) were being tested for a new higher-speed locomotive to replace the GG1 and E60. All but the E60 were put on display for members of the combined Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc. and American Society of Mechanical Engineers convention at Washington Union Station that evening. The Rc4 design was ultimately chosen; it became the basis of the long-lived EMD AEM-7 model.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
