Deutsch: Salonwagen As 51 und 52 der Gotthardbahn (GB), erbaut 1882/83 von der Schweizerischen Industrie-Gesellschaft (SIG), Neuhausen am Rheinfall. Sie wiesen 18 Sitzplätze auf, 6 im mittleren Salonabteil mit Oberlicht, 6 im sogenannten Nachtabteil mit ausziehbaren Sitzen und 6 im seitlich offenen „Aussichtspavillon“. Dazu kamen ein WC und ein Waschraum. Nach der Verstaatlichung hatten die SBB keine Verwendung für die beiden Salonwagen. Wagen Nr. 52 (SBB Nr. 36) wurde 1912 ausrangiert. Die Seetalbahn (STB) übernahm Wagen Nr. 51 (SBB Nr. 35) und setzte das noch immer komfortable Fahrzeuge für Gesellschaftsfahrten ein. Als die STB 1922 von den SBB übernommen wurde, diente das Fahrzeug von 1925 bis 1945 als Fahrleitungsbeobachtungswagen. |

Die private Gotthardbahn-Gesellschaft legte mit Blick auf den internationalen Charakter ihrer transalpinen Verbindung von Anfang an großen Wert auf einen hohen Komfort ihrer Reisezugwagen. Den Höhepunkt der Anfangszeit stellten die beiden, in Neuhausen am Rheinfall gebauten Salonwagen As 51 und 52 dar. Sie wiesen 18 Sitzplätze auf – 6 im mittleren Salonabteil mit Oberlicht, 6 im sogenannten Nachtabteil mit ausziehbaren Sitzen und 6 im seitlich offenen „Aussichtspavillon“. Dazu kamen ein WC und ein Waschraum. Nach der Verstaatlichung der Gotthardbahn 1909 hatten die Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen (SBB) angesichts einer Überzahl ehemaliger Privatbahn-Salons keine Verwendung für die beiden Gotthard-Karossen. Die damals noch private Seetalbahn (STB) konnte daher den Wagen Nr. 51 (nunmehr Nr. 35) günstig erwerben und setzte das mit kleinen Tischen, beweglichen Sesseln und großen Aussichtsfenstern noch immer komfortable Fahrzeuge für Gesellschafts- und Vergnügungsfahrten ein (siehe => ttp://www.eisenbahn-bilder.com/db/details.php?image_id=84295). Als die STB 1922 ihrerseits von den SBB übernommen wurde, war es auch zwischen Lenzburg und Luzern um die „lustvollen“ Spazierfahrten geschehen. Die Staatsbahn machte 1925 aus der Salon einen ordinären Fahrleitungsbeobachtungswagen. 1944 wurde der Zeuge aus „besseren“ Eisenbahntagen noch als Begleitfahrzeug für Streckenversuche an die AG Brown, Boveri & Cie. (BBC) vermietet, bevor er 1945 abgebrochen wurde. Den zweiten GB-Salon – Nr. 52 (oder bei den SBB Nr. 36) – hatte dieses Schicksal schon 1912 ereilt. |
