| Description |
English: A microscopic cross-section of a GBO stack. The dark regions are poly methyl methacrylate. The light regions are birefringent polytheylene naphthalate. The layers on the right side of the image are 25% thinner than those on the left side of the image. This variation in thickness throughout the depth of the stack give GBO film its unique properties. |
