DescriptionFurrow press near Barwick Hall Farm - geograph.org.uk - 440037.jpg |
English: Lemken furrow press/packer (presumably a VarioPack model) near Barwick Hall Farm, near to Stanhoe, Norfolk, Great Britain. An elegant piece of engineering. The rings are not separate rings but interlocking spirals with everything designed to minimize clogging. This packer is attached just behind and to the side of the plough so the earth is turned by the plough in one pass and then broken up and reconsolidated by the furrow press as the plough comes back the other way. In short one powerful tractor now does what needed two tractors before. |
