Photograph of funeral procession of Vicente Arce, Mission San Juan Capistrano, California, 1900. The old Indian, Acu, is tolling the bells of the campanario in the traditional manner in the background. Six pall-bearers carry the flower-covered casket followed by a group of a dozen or more mourners attired principally in European-style dress. The mission is in the background.; 1. The leading pall bearer at the right is Librado Olivares; 2. The leading pall bearer at the left is Don Librado Garcia; 3. Behind Librado Olivares (1) is the San Juan Indian Fedrigo Majel; 4. Behind Librado Garcia (2) is Francisco Rios; 5. Behind Francisco Rios (4) is Matias Velardes; 6. Behind Natial Velardes (6) is Lugarda Jimenez de Sepulveda; 7. Behind Lugarda de Sepulveda (6) is Luz Lechuza, Indian with black shirt; 8. Next to Luz Lechuza (7) is Felicidad Yorba de Aguilar; 9. Next to Felicidad de Aguilar (8) is the San Juan Indian Maria Gomez, mother of the deceased (in black and holding the little daughter of the deceased). -- A. Yorba.
