Summary
[edit]DescriptionFulwood Road, Broomhill - geograph.org.uk - 1004601.jpg |
English: Fulwood Road, Broomhill From right to left. Record Collector Music, Video & Games Shop (described as a dangerously addictive record shop, with vinyl store next door), Trio jewellers, Fox & Duck public house. Described as, being owned by the University Students Union and has a positive attitude towards student concerns - namely cheap beer. The most interesting thing about the place, is that you can bring in your own food and the venue supplies cutlery, crockery and condiments as long as customers buy a drink. This was my grandfathers favourite pub. Next is Help the Aged a charity shop. Scotts - Ladies and Gentlemen's Hairdressing, The Potters House a gift shop, On a Roll sandwich shop and Strand hair and beauty salon, which is at the junction with Nile Street.
I think its safe to say that in a typical row like this, the only places that will be as they were many years ago, will be the pubs and the banks. The Fox & Duck was built in the early 1830s and has remained as such. The shops will have changed their identity many times. |
