Summary

[edit]
Description The actual finish was 3 cars wide, which Ken Miles felt might have been Ford trying to keep the focus on "Ford Wins LeMans" and not "Ken Miles Wins the 3 biggest endurance races in 1966", which he did. But the Automobile Club Oust (ACO) who organize Le Mans wasn't having any 3 way ties... the McLaren/Amon car, in New Zealand colors of black and silver, started furthest back, so it had gone the farthest, and thus it was declared the winner. Ferrari and Porsche also indulged in 3-wide finishes at various 1960s races... nice if you can make it happen!
