English: Native Americans may have helped Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) disperse northward by carrying its fruit as glaciers retreated in eastern North America. This photo was taken by me, Connie Barlow, and I wrote about this fruit in my 2001 book, The Ghosts of Evolution.

Asimina triloba is native to eastern North America and is the most northern species of the large (mostly tropical) plant family, Annonaceae.
