Description
English: The Jamia Masjid is a significant mosque located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Nestled in Nowhatta within the Old City, this mosque was initiated by Sultan Sikandar in 1394 CE and reached completion in 1402 CE under the direction of Mir Mohammad Hamadani, the son of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani. It stands as one of the most esteemed mosques in Kashmir. Positioned in the downtown area, which is pivotal to the religio-political sphere of Srinagar, it draws numerous Muslims every Friday and serves as a key tourist attraction in the city.
