| Description |
English: From Iron Age to 20th Century On the headland above Scarborough is the Castle; within its grounds are the remains of an Iron Age settlement,Roman Signal Station and a Chapel dating back to around 1000 AD. As can be seen by the photo not a lot remains. The large slab in the foreground is the grave into which all the human remains were placed after excavations from 1921 to 1925 disturbed the chapel graveyard which is built on top of the earlier buildings. |
