Summary
[edit]DescriptionFrettenham towermill conversion - geograph.org.uk - 757224.jpg |
English: Frettenham towermill conversion. The towermill is located in the yard of what used to be Home Farm, in Mill Road; it was a 47 foot, five storey tarred brick mill, built around 1870 for Joshua Harper, who was a farmer and a dyer. It was one of the last towermills to be built in Norfolk and had a boat shaped cap, four patent sails and a fan, and a stage that was set around the second floor. http://www.norfolkmills.co.uk/Windmills/frettenham-towermill.html The mill and the buildings surrounding it are presently in the process of being rebuilt and restored, and finally converted into private dwellings. See > 33245 for comparison. |
