| Description | A locally manufactured freshwater dam on Sparrow Inlet, part of the Murrell Farm. A date of 1924 has been imprinted in the concrete at the time of construction. Water barges were used to transport fresh (drinking) water from here to ships berthed in Port Stanley as they offered cheaper rates than from the government operated fresh water provider. Oral history from the owner of Murrell Farm. |
