[edit]DescriptionFreight through Marshfield, south Wales (27939820731).jpg |
Direct Rail Services 66424 is seen approaching journey's end with the 0820 working from Daventry Railfreight Terminal to Wentloog Freightliner Terminal. The service carries goods on behalf of Tesco, and the containers in the train are branded 'Less CO2'. The photograph was taken from the railway overbridge on Hawse Lane near Marshfield, Newport. Three days later the road bridge was due to close to allow for a replacement bridge to be constructed in preparation for electrification of the South Wales Main Line. I have only recently started to use the bridge as a photographic location and it's a great spot, so I will miss my visits here over the next two years (the road is due to reopen in Spring 2018). |
